The Kemp Group is currently working with a client to fill an Accounting and Reporting Manager position located in Savannah GA. The position has the following responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the accounting issues resolution process and the research of technical accounting and reporting issues
  • Advise senior leadership team on technical accounting matters related to US GAAP, Statutory, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Supervise and/or perform technical accounting research and provides interpretation of ambiguous and complex accounting literature to address technical accounting questions related to special projects
  • Interpret new, existing, proposed, and finalized accounting pronouncements to determine the potential impact to the organization; provides summary of accounting impact to senior management
  • Keep abreast of internal and external developments that could impact corporate accounting and reporting
  • Communicate accounting policies and positions both verbally and in writing with senior management, external and internal auditors and Audit Committee
  • Collaborate with senior management and others across business units to strategically enhance, revise and implement policies and controls
  • Develop recommendations regarding the adoption and implementation of accounting changes for the Company and presents to senior management
  • Assist in development and training through continuing education presentations for company personnel
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of the Corporate Accounting Policy Manual and accounting checklist.
  • Assist in representing the company externally on issues relating to accounting policy through participation in industry-wide associations and related organizational meetings
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and six years of professional job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years in a supervisory/senior professional capacity
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Big 4 or large regional accounting firm experience preferred.
  • SEC reporting and/or SOX-related experience required.
