The Kemp Group is currently working with a large public client to fill a SEC Reporting Manager position located in Columbus, GA. The position has the following responsibilities:
  • Manages employees and operations of the business unit at the functional level; performs independent reviews of problem situations; develops solutions and implements actions to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities and enhance productivity and quality; coordinates workflow of the business unit and ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of corporate resources and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Directs the preparation, analysis, and filing of financial documents mandated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)and other regulatory bodies in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including financial statements and notes to the financials and the corresponding XBRL data tagging, as well as management’s discussion and analysis
  • Ensures compliance of documents in accordance with guidelines established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), SEC and other authoritative accounting policy setting organizations
  • Coordinates the review of the company’s various regulatory filings with executive and senior financial management, the company’s external auditors and SEC attorneys
  • Coordinates with the accounting policy department to understand proposed accounting practices from the FASB, SEC, and other regulatory authorities in order to determine the impact on the company’s financials and ensure compliance with required disclosures
  • Analyzes current U.S. GAAP accounting pronouncements and drafts financial reporting disclosures required by those standards
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and six years of professional job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years of experience in a leadership/senior/supervisory capacity
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required
  • Previous relevant experience with a public accounting firm is preferred
